RoomSketcher at the NAEA National London Forum

The National Association of Estate Agents (NAEA) National London Forum was hosted on Tuesday 24th February at the Lancaster London Hotel, located right next to the stunning scenery of Hyde Park. A highlight on the UK property industry calendar for the reputable members of the NAEA, the Forum was attended by over 250 delegates, in addition to 20 leading property industry vendors exhibiting their products and services.

The one day event had an exciting and comprehensive programme including a welcome from Mark Hayward, NAEA Managing Director, and Simon Gerrard, NAEA President, a keynote speech from Geoff Burch, ‘The Alternative Business Guru’, plus an inspirational presentation on property photography by Sam Ashdown, Owner of Home Truths. The programme also included several networking opportunities throughout the day, a tasty lunch (including some good old English Fish and Chips) and demonstrations from the various property industry vendors.

Dale Smith, Events Officer at the National Federation of Property Professionals, summarised the day “With another successful NAEA London Forum executed for our reputable members of the UK property industry, it was nice to see some old (and some new) faces networking together and collaborating on the hot topics our industry is facing right now. Plus it was inspiring to see some new vendors such as RoomSketcher, coming all the way from Norway to offer live demonstrations of their professional and interactive floor plan solutions to our members.”

Hot Topic at the event…

One of the key hot topics for this year’s event was a presentation by Ian Springett, Chief Executive of, delivering a current status and outlook for this major new entrant into the UK property portal market. This has been a widely publicised topic for quite some time now in the UK and was interesting to hear directly from Springett himself.

Ian Springett - Chief Executive,

There’s certainly plenty of anticipation and excitement to see what happens in the UK property portal market in 2015 and whether will reach its goal to bypass Zoopla as the No.2 property portal in the UK within its first year of business, after the market leader Rightmove of course. With over 1 million hits on their website in the first month, have definitely come racing out of the blocks to capture the markets attention. Time (and the market) will decide how this race ends.
